About
MeI was born in Fresno, CA and, at 10 years old, began performing
at Roger Rocka’s Good Company Players, the local dinner theater. I
performed there on and off for 8 years. I attended High School at
Roosevelt School for the Performing Arts. After High School I
decided to skip college and headed to the San Francisco Bay Area
where I performed in productions of BIG RIVER(Mary Jane), PUMP BOYS
AND DINETTES(Prudie), INTO THE WOODS(Little Red), A LITTLE NIGHT
MUSIC(Petra-DramaLogue Award), ALABAMA RAIN(Dallas), and RED,HOT AND
COLE(Principal) in theatres such as Diablo Light Opera Company,
Contra Costa Musical Theater, CitiArts, New Stage Theater Company
and Center Repertory Company. I was one of the founding members of
The Galatean Players and performed in their productions of the play
THE MARRIAGE PROPOSAL as well as THE ROBBER BRIDEGROOM(Rosamund). I
received my Equity card doing a production of ME AND MY GIRL(Sally)
at the Woodminster Ampitheater. I then went on to perform at
TheatreWorks in ALMOST SEPTEMBER(Molly) and again at Woodminster in
another production of INTO THE WOODS(Little Red).
After a few years in the Bay Area, it was time for a change. I
decided to move to Los Angeles and was cast in a production of THE
SECRET GARDEN(Martha) at Fullerton Civic Light Opera. I lived in LA
for a few months before being cast in the same part at TheatreWorks
back up in Northern California. After that production I decided not
to head back to LA but to make the move to New York City.
I moved to New York and was there for 2 weeks before being cast in a
production of BEEHIVE at The Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas. The 9 month
run in Vegas was followed by the same production being mounted at
TUTS in Houston. During the wait between the Vegas an TUTS
production of BEEHIVE I was cast in the role of Dot in SUNDAY IN THE
PARK WITH GEORGE with the Musical Theater Company in Southern CA. I
love the show and didn’t want to pass up the opportunity to play the
role so, after Houston, I headed back to Los Angeles.
I received a Drama-Logue award for my portrayal of Dot, stayed in
LA, and went on to perform in THE ALL NIGHT STRUT(Principal), NO,NO,
NANETTE(Lucille), HOLLYWOOD’S HEYDEY(Principal), and the west coast
premiere of I LOVE YOU, YOU’RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE(Woman #1) at
theaters such as The Tiffany Theater, The Welk, and The Laguna
Playhouse.
Northern CA came calling again when I was cast as Ruby in a San
Francisco production of DAMES AT SEA which played the Marines
Memorial Theater. The show was critically acclaimed and received
Dean Goodman and Garland awards. After working with the company, who
were all from New York, I decided to make the move to New York once
again. I flew to NY on the red-eye and had a morning audition for
LITTLE ME(directed by Rob Marshall) at The Roundabout Theater
company. I booked the job on the spot and New York became my home.
In New York I have performed on Broadway in THE DROWSY CHAPERONE
where I covered and performed the roles of Janet and Kitty as well
as a Sondheim review called OPENING DOORS at Carnegie Hall (where I
stood by for Victoria Clark, Jan Maxwell and Kate Baldwin).
Off-Broadway I appeared in I LOVE YOU, YOU’RE PERFECT, NOW
CHANGE(Woman #1) and in REEFER MADNESS where I covered Michelle Pawk.
I have also done many regional productions. At The Bay Street
Theater in Sag Harbor, I played the role of Maisie in THE BOY FRIEND
which was directed by Julie Andrews. Ms. Andrews then went on to
direct me in the same production at the Goodspeed Opera House which
was followed by a National Tour. I also performed in 2 other shows
at Goodspeed: NO, NO, NANETTE(Nanette) and DAMES AT SEA(Ruby).
I received a Carbonnell award for the role of female critic in
MEN(later known as THE THING ABOUT MEN) which played The Broward
Center for the Performing Arts in Ft. Lauderdale. I appeared at
Kansas City Starlight and Casa Manana Theater in their joint
production of ANNIE(Lily St. Regis) and did yet another production
of a job that has been very good to me, I LOVE YOU, YOU’RE PERFECT,
NOW CHANGE at The Old Town Theater in San Diego. I also had the
opportunity to head back to my old stomping grounds at TheatreWorks
to do Mildred Mallard in the premiere of the Henry Krieger/Bill
Russell musical EVERYTHING’S DUCKY. Most recently, I played the
title role in THOROGHLY MODERN MILLIE at The Cape Playhouse
where I had also done a production of MY ONE AND ONLY(Mickey).
In 2008, I toured the country as Janet Van De
Graff in first national tour of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE.
